How we organise ourselves.
The students began their first week with their first unit of inquiry- Citizenship.
The students conducted their own interviews over the weekend, posing the question of 'What do you think citizenship means?' to some of their fellow citizens.
They brought their findings to school and worked in groups to discuss the variety of understandings that came about. They created posters and presented their findings to one another in class.

- Through the eyes of a citizen.
- In to the ears of another citizen.
- Out the mouth of a citizen.
2D & 3D Shapes
The Grade 3's used their knowledge of tessellating shapes to form pictures and create structures with their 3D concrete shapes.
They were able to differentiate between 2D & 3D shapes, then proceeded to draw and label a variety of shapes in their book.
Active Listening- Listening for specific information
Working on their listening skills, they listened to a number of short old songs and identified multiple rhyming words within the song.
Diving into teamwork and a bit of family feud, the students needed to find words that belonged to a specific family group.
Engaging their mind, body and soul, the learners cooled down with some yoga and breathing techniques.
STEM
With a variety of things to do the Grade three's moved on down to the STEM room.
Some used weights on a balance scale to determine what is heavier, a 'turtle' or a 'fox's tail'.

All in a row or a full-house here and there, another group was shouting 'Bingo!' that had an analogue clock flair. The last, but not least, a very cool kid he was testing his IQ with a puzzle of tricks.
WONDER WALL
Students engaged with their inquiry skills and began building their Wonder Wall. Many of which had interesting questions and wonders about citizenship.
