It has been two weeks since the
Fiery Foxes began their count down...
Finally, the day arrived!
Our first Grade Three Field Trip for the year!
Everyone woke up excited and ready for the day ahead.
Arriving at school with a different attire, they prepped themselves for the
rainy weather, umbrellas, raincoats, and gumboots (rainboots) for all.
9 o'clock struck and off we go, pairing up, through the door.
The sweetest sight to see was doing a headcount, as in, counting the umbrellas of my beautiful grade threes.
We caught the train and walked
the rest of the way to arrive at our destination.
SUMA AQUALIFE
Let the fun begin!
The Grade Threes were
interested in the different sea and freshwater creatures in the tanks, and respected
them by keeping in mind that these various creatures were taken from their own
habitats (community) and placed in a new one for us to learn about and because
of this we are able to develop our knowledgeable skills further.
Last, but not least, their most
favourite part of the trip...The petting zone, also known as, the interaction
area.
This is where a lot of teamwork and encouragement took place amongst the
children. Some children were very reluctant to touch the shark or allow the Red
Garra to clean off their dead skin cells, but with the encouragement of another
friend and school mate, all the students interacted with the different
creatures and reaped the rewards of challenging their uncertainty and
experiencing something different and new.
A very BIG thank you to one of our mom's for accompanying myself and the Grade 3's on our trip.
