After a relaxing week's break, the Fiery Foxes were happy to be back mingling with the rest of their team. They began with sharing their holiday adventures and stories with one another making sure to add enough detail for their peer to write a holiday news report based on what they told them and vice versa.
Shortly after, we welcomed a new member to our Grade Three team.
A very warm welcome to our new friend who has comfortably made herself at home at DSKI.

The
Grade Three's worked very well during their break researching a main organ in
the body that they could present to the rest of their class. After presenting
their research they went through an interactive Q&A session with their
peers, which allowed them to think about the knowledge they’ve acquired and
answer questions accordingly.
We also took a look at the Skeletal System this week, learning about the different bones in the body and why our skeletons are essential.
There were many questions ranging from,
Do babies and adults have the same amount of bones?to
Does Coca Cola affect our bones and make them weak?
This is when the Fiery Foxes took the questions posed by their classmates and created presentation slides to answer the questions with facts that they were able to research.
In Mathematics we looked at converting Measurement for mass and length. The children were especially interested in finding the rule for various number sequences and seeing how far up the number line they could apply the rule.
The Grade Threes were also very fortunate to be visited by a professional Physiotherapist, who taught them about their posture by using an exciting range of activities for the children to take part in.
A reminder about the Upper Primary Cross Country race taking place next Friday.
