Where we are in place and time- Week One

 Moving On To Unit 4
- Civilization over time

This week the Fiery Foxes moved into their new unit, which entails looking at past civilizations and how they connect to our present day lives.
We watched videos based on ground-breaking ancient civilizations that influence us today, the Foxes then drew a picture representing one of them and coloured it in.
After learning a bit about each, the Foxes voted for the one they would like to explore further as a class,
and...Ancient Egyptian Civilization, it is!
Looking at Egypt's location, not only did the Fiery Foxes discover that it is northeast of Africa but also learnt that one of its ancient names was Kemet- which they believe was because of the rich black soil.
The Foxes are unbelievably excited for Monday, as we will be setting time aside to get hands on with a science experiment kit.
We started learning how to write in cursive handwriting this week, focusing on the formation of the letters, especially since it is the first time to write in cursive for some of them.
But the most exciting, is the UP Winter Ski Trip coming up NEXT WEEK!
A reminder to be at school before 08:10 on Tuesday morning.
We will arrive back on Thursday at 15:00 and the students may be fetched after school at 15:30.
No school on Friday!
